Batailles de Reines

The title is highly coveted "Queen of Queens," and the cows here all show up very fierce! The competition, which takes place every year, involves a selection by tournament, which is held from March until October throughout the region, and the best-ranked cows show up for the finals in October at the Aosta Arena. The competitors are of the spotted black and chestnut breed, there is no violence , and rather than a fight it is a clash of horns. It is a great country festival where even the palate will be satisfied, in fact you can taste typical dishes and wine of the Aosta Valley, a goliardic way of being together.
