The Water Walk will take you inside the living history of Masseria Zuvinu and Fiumara Assi, following the path of the water that for centuries fed mills, oil mills, vegetable gardens and entire rural communities. We will walk among citrus groves, ancient jazzi, transhumance courtyards and agricultural artifacts, discovering how water was the real engine of the local production system: "the water of the fiumara is diverted... it guided the water to the mill of Zuino... until it reached the rapid of the oil mill driving the water wheel."

During the visit we will enter the authentic spaces of the historic masseria: the watchtower, the courtyards, the granaries, the ovens and especially the famous Trappeto alla Genovese, the "flagship of the Masseria Zuvinu," where we will understand the evolution of milling techniques, from the Persian wheel to the hydraulic turbine. Through these places we will discover what life was like on a self-sufficient masseria, "being able, as in a real movie, to see what life was like on a masseria, who the protagonists were and what they did."

The experience is special because it combines walking, historical storytelling and observation of the water landscape: the Fiumara Assi still holds traces of mills, monasteries, irrigation systems, washing tanks and ancient water-related rituals. It is a journey inside a fragile and precious rural ecosystem, told by those who study and guard it.

The trail is suitable for people with a minimum of walking habits on natural terrain (rivers, stones, small elevation differences). Perfect for adults, families with curious children, schools and groups interested in nature, local history, rural archaeology and rural life.
