Palio della Marciliana, Chioggia

One of the main popular festivals of the local community, which relives the medieval atmosphere of Chioggia between 1378 and 1381 involved in the famous War of Chioggia, the clash that saw the republics of Venice and Genoa in contention for domination of maritime trade with the East.
Along the city's main street you will meet jesters, drummers, dancers, preaching friars; you can ask the tavern host for a drink or dance to the sound of the de Clugia musicians.
